The cat catches its walk through the human eye…
– Nihar Pradhan
The cat as a pet, they have become an integral part of our houses and domestic surrounding. We see them among us and around us in many places. Yes, we take them for granted. We generally overlook the domestic cat, though we never dare to do so for the wild cat. We do so particularly in the day time, and in the darkness of night they make their presence strongly felt with their light reflecting eyes. No more we can ignore them…they have made their significance presence now well epitomized in the fashion world…the catwalk of the model and the cat’s eye as an accessory.
Catwalk has its origin. Catwalk is a narrow platform where people can walk…it is the name that got its origin from the suspended footbridges between buildings to across the mountains to pedestrian bridges. The model walk has its reference to cat as a cat walks the narrow platform with élan and without fear. It is said that the walkway is intentionally kept narrow to make the observer see the clothes closely and analyze the accessories of the model on the ramp.
Cat’s Eye has its connotation. Cymophane is a variety of gemstone popularly known as Cat’s Eye. This variety of stone exhibits iridescence that is similar to that of a cat’s eye. It is believed that cat’s eye has remedial power; the stone provides protection and dispels negativity. Cat’s eye treats disorders and improves night vision…it’s a belief. I have no reason to deny it nor have the binding to try it. I left the thought there and left for an exploration.

But I was forced to reflect, with the cat walking on the fence and looking at me with a very strong intent. The stunning cat with its striking look was captured in my camera and got embedded in my psyche. The catwalk was wavering to get the perfect shot and I tried my best and I just slipped from the perfect capture…so therein lies the subtle haze in the picture.
Next day as I was exploring the buffet breakfast on the outside extended balcony of the restaurant, the sun was bright and the weather was pleasant. It was tempting and driving. Though the imperfection was bothering me, I was determined to wither the waver in my next capture. I walked around the space, I was looking for and I did spot the cat but not the same one. I was hooked once again with this beautiful cat trying to catch me, it was sitting not walking. I was with my lens on as it has now become a habit and as a learner photographer I did learn from last capture and did manage to catch the cat on my camera without the waver. I kept my mission and mood in place and did manage to capture the cat’s eye the glow eclipsing the regret of the catwalk the flow…
